New award added to the Pegasus trophy shelf

Another fantastic achievement last week as Pegasus picked up the Communiqué Award for Best Consumer Health Programme for the successive year.

The educational campaign ‘Once a Week, Take a Peek’, highlights the importance of weekly head lice checks, providing simple advice aimed at tackling parental confusion about how to treat the problem.

The campaign managed to see off tough competition and clearly impressed the judges, who commented, “Such a fine example of medical and consumer tactics working well together. They used a clever, creative platform, uncovering a huge knowledge gap amongst parents. Very thorough and beautifully executed”.

Welcome Jo!

We are delighted to welcome Jo Spadaccino on board in the newly created role as director of our pharma and life sciences division!

Jo, a former Board Director of Cohn & Wolfe will be responsible for leading our PR and healthcare professional education campaigns for existing pharma and consumer health clients, as well as driving new business in UK and international markets.

Jo’s appointment is an exciting step forward for us as she will strengthen our senior management team and her experience advising leading pharmaceutical companies will bolster our offering in an increasingly patient-focused marketplace.

Jo is looking forward to swapping commuting into London for a short journey along the coast – giving her more time to spend in her home town Brighton, spending the summer evenings on the beach and driving around in her much loved Nissan Figaro.

Another Pegasus success!

We’ve said it before and as we have won another award for it we’ll say it again, Pegasus is a great place to work!

This time it was PR Week who awarded us Bronze in the best places to work.  We were praised for our ‘buddy system’ for new starters, our extensive training schedule which is tailored to each employees’ needs and benefits such as maternity leave, and performance based bonuses. PR Week also picked on the more social side of the agency such as our social schedule which includes yearly trips to Goodwood.

See what Senior Account Director, Chris Webb had to say about it here

And the good news is we’re hiring!  If you want to find our more, contact our careers department at careers@pegasuspr.co.uk

Pegasus speaks up

Beauty team members, Helen Yeardsley and Sam Humphrey gave a seminar at the prestigious Natural and Organic Products Europe Show last weekend. Titled “Understanding the Natural Beauty Consumer”, their 45 minute session looked at what consumers understand about natural beauty, the role of social and traditional media and how best to use these channels to connect with your audience. Judging by the full house and excellent response afterwards, they both hope to be back next year.

Office update

Posted by Stuart in Pegasus No comments»

After a few weeks of hard graft, from a few select individuals (most notably Carol), the office refurb is almost complete, with just the swanky reception to go. It’s all just in time, since we have five new members of staff joining tout suite. The main office has doubled in size and we’ve added three new meeting rooms – one of which is the new creative area. The creative TV was wired up today and we eagerly await the upgrade to Sky Sports….

We do like to be beside the seaside….

Dr-Seuss-Job

We’ve always known it, but now it’s official. When it comes to a career in communications, you won’t find too many better places to work than here.

News has reached us that we’ve come second in the annual Holmes Report ‘Best UK Consultancy to Work For’ survey. With more than 40 top firms taking part and a top ten featuring some great consultancies, it’s no surprise that we are all feeling pretty chuffed.

We also happen to be recruiting at all levels, so go on, drop us a line. You know you want to.

Following on from the eight awards we won last year – including a hat-trick of OTC Campaign of the Year titles - we’ve started the year with a flourish, gaining seven nominations at the year’s first two ceremonies.

At the OTC Marketing Awards, campaigns for Covonia and Nasacort will battle it out for Best OTC PR Campaign for a Medicine, while our launch of the weight management product, APPEsat competes in the Non Medicine category. At the Fresh Awards, we have four nominations – Media Relations Campaign,  Consumer Campaign, Stunt and Team of the Year.

Let’s hope we get to update this post with some even better news when the results are in.

My World – Lucy Lott

Lucy Lott July09

Name: Lucy Lott
Position: Account Manager
Time at Pegasus: 9 months

My Media
I like the Observer and Sunday Times for the travel and review sections and the Telegraph Magazine for the beauty and shopping pages. Love a Radio 4 play too (although I don’t listen to them enough) and get very excited about a good period drama.

My Books
Too many to name! Dombey & Son by Charles Dickens, Lilian’s Story by Kate Grenville and the Louis de Berniere’s trilogy are highlights. I could go on…

My Destination
India, India, India – every part of it is different and intriguing, exciting and bizarre – especially loved Varanasi for the misty river in the morning and eating curry for breakfast! Wanted to take all the puppies home though, that wasn’t so good…

My Soundtrack
Embarrassingly, I am proud to know most of the words to the Grease 2 soundtrack. My favourite line is – “…who’s that man, (the man on the cycle), what would they say if they knew it was Michael…”

My Inspiration
All the obvious people that make me laugh – my friends, boyfriend, family and my lovely chunky cheeky nephew! And going to see a brilliant piece of theatre that makes you talk about it for hours afterwards.

My Love
Eating poached eggies (with the yolk just right) on hot buttery toast with just the right amount of salt and a lot of pepper, on a Saturday morning, made by my boyfriend, with a cup of very strong tea. Bliss.

My Pet Hate
Anyone who is rude or mean.
Leaving my Carmex lip-balm at home.
Fussy eaters – there is too much joy in food, people must eat, eat, eat!

Finally – who would play Lucy in the film of your life?
Me, please!

New Year, New Office

Following another decent year of growth and the arrival of a few new recruits, we’ve taken the plunge and decided the time is right to extend the office. After losing our neighbours to the recession, it became apparent we were free to unleash the sledgehammers and knock through to the adjoining offices, effectively doubling our space. Two new meeting rooms, a brainstorming area, new business ‘war room’ and swanky new reception should all be in place by the end of Feb. We’ll keep you posted.
